Happy birthday, Cookie! and a Happy Earth Day to all.
Updated by Kathryne Taylor on August 6, 2024
Iโm not one to pay attention to dates, but I realized this morning that today is not only Earth Day, but also Cookieโs second birthday! Alleged birthday, that is. I adopted her from Tulsa, Oklahomaโs Pet Adoption League (PAL) in August of last year, and her paperwork lists her birthday as April 22, 2008.
Hereโs the birthday girl:
Cookie is my mystery puppyโI donโt know where she was born, who her parents were, or even what breeds they are. Favorite made-up mixes so far are schipperhoula (schipperke + catahoula leopard dog) and blue russell (blue heeler + jack russell terrier). Whatโs your best guess?
I must admit, I was excited when I connected the Earth Day-Cookie birthday link. Iโm a holiday baby myself (Christmas Day) and itโs only fitting that my dog be born on a holiday as well. Perhaps Earth Day isnโt considered a bona fide holiday yet, but Cooke and I will take any excuse to celebrate we can get!
We settled on taking a nice long walk to commemorate baby girlโs second birthday. Tomorrow weโre going to have a serious discussion about being a big girl, meaning that sheโs not allowed to walk all over me any more. And weโre off!
Enjoying your new book! Cookie is so adorable! If youโre ever curious, the Wisdom Panel dog DNA test is kind of fun to do, I got it for my doggo :)
Thank you, LA!
Hello C+K
I read all that here is about Cookie (and you as well).
I love dogs immensely. During my life I had four which were all strays except one. Not at the same time. One goes another is found roamingโฆin it comes. I miss them all very much and canโt get another one because of old age.
To end this comment I love dogs more than I love to eat.
God bless us all, animals too. They are so innocentโฆ.
