What a weekend! Iโm all tuckered out after a few fun-filled days with friends. Highlights include hanging out at the Dustbowl Art Market, making faces in a photo booth, sipping on [numerous] free cocktails and laughing over classic diner fare at breakfast. Last night we danced away to my friendsโ 90s band, which made me feel old in the best way possible. Iโm turning 26 this month, you know.
Tonight Iโm sharing a pumpkin and pineapple cocktail that was inspired by a drink at Pura Vida in Cleveland (see the original here). Upon first sip, I vowed to recreate it at home, so Iโm keeping to my word. Itโs a real treat! Itโs sweet but balanced; Iโd savor one for dessert any day.

This is the third drink in my holiday cocktail series. Donโt miss the other two: pear nectar with reposado tequila, and a warming Wassail!
Wowzers, this looks amazing! It sounds so tasty right now!
I donโt usually comment, but this sounds fantastic enough for me to do so. I just pureed a bunch of pumpkin to throw in the freezer and think I might try this. Do you use fresh pumpkin for this?
Hey Wayne, thanks for commenting! I used canned organic pumpkin purรฉe but I think fresh pumpkin would be absolutely delicious. Go for it!
Pumpkin and pineapple?! Iโm intrigued! Iโve got a ton of pumpkin puree in the freezer leftover from Halloween and Thanksgiving, so Iโll have to give this one a try.
This sounds dreamy!
I never would have thought to combine pumpkin & pineapple, but I love both flavorsโฆ so why not?! Sounds delicious. Iโm also eyeing that gorgeous wooden slab/cross-section in the photos โ would you mind sharing where you bought it? Thanks!
Thanks, Lauren! I picked out the wood slab at a salvage yard and my dear dad stained it for me. It cost next to nothing. Iโm hoping to get a bigger one soon!
Beautiful photo!
I just love the combo you have chosenโฆpineapple and pumpkinโฆit sounds SO good!

I am not one who drinks alcohol and have friends who donโt either. Have you made this cocktail without alcohol, and if so is it worthy of serving to guests?
Do you use fresh pumpkin for this?
I used canned pumpkin puree. But, if you have fresh pumpkin puree on hand, that would be lovely!
Thanks for the recipe.
Youโre welcome!
This itโs amazing โ thanks you!

OMG! Great recipe. I found that I still have a lot of canned pumpkin puree left in the fridge. This was so tasty~ I think in total this recipe has only around 160 โ 200 calories :)
Thanks, Kiyo! If you would want to leave a review, that would be great.
Sorry forgot to give a rating! Also for others wanting to know, there are around 400 calories in this (with rum) :)
Thank you!
Thanks so much! This itโs amazing.
Thanks for the review!
I accidentally purchased pumpkin pie fillingโฆ If I use that instead of puree and omit the spices in the recipe, do you think it may be an ok substitute?
Hi Mo, I recommend this best as written. Let me know if you try it!
Oh my gosh, this drink is fantastic! The spices, the pumpkin, and the pineapple blend together perfectly. It tastes slightly tropical but also herbal.
Your recipes are always wonderful. Thank you for this creative and yummy cocktail.
Duuuude! This is amazing! Cheers.
